Things that shapped my life!
NAVIGATE JEFFRY HERMAN'S LIFE CHAPTERS
These books brought me success
Success can only be achieved with knowledge, motivation, and persistence. Below are some of the books and authors who motivated my success.
Kings v Plebs
Throughout time, the lives of ordinary people have been controlled by monarchs and rulers, while their own voices remained unheard and their freedoms limited.
I AM
Once upon a time, in the vast expanse of the Milky Way Galaxy, on a small blue planet orbiting the third star from the sun, there existed a being named I Am. The circumstances of I Am's existence were shrouded in mystery, as they seemed to have emerged randomly, without purpose or intent.
What makes AMERICA GREAT
Our creator provided man with a planet full of FREE and abundant raw materials, yet for 6000 years man struggled just to survive. Every person is born with an abundance of human energy, and when human energy and FREE raw materials collide, survival takes place.
Devils Punchbowl
This is a very special area for hiking out on the Pear Blossom Highway that has some very unique rock formations.
Verdugo Mountains
Always looking for a challenge, we decided to travers the entire length of the Verdugo Mountain range in one day. It would require two cars, one at each end. The hike was special and quite unique. I doubt that many hike the entire length.
Paramount Ranch
Today we thought we would do something different and hike over to Paramount Ranch. So many films and TV series have been filmed here.
Manson Family Cave
I worked in Chatsworth for years before finding out that the Manson Family held up just miles from our offices at the Spahn Ranch and hung out in the caves just behind the ranch.
An ode to my hiking buddy
The best quote of friendship that I have ever read.
Changing American Prosperity
During this era of economic transformation, consumer debt as a percentage of disposable income soared from 66% in 1980 to a staggering 144% by 2007.
What makes AMERICA GREAT
Our creator provided man with a planet full of FREE and abundant raw materials, yet for 6000 years man struggled just to survive. Every person is born with an abundance of human energy, and when human energy and FREE raw materials collide, survival takes place.
The cause of human suffering
In the most private spaces of each person's inner conscious life, a deep dissatisfaction is lurking, a nagging sense that life is somehow out of kilter, misaligned, not quite as it should be.
Flying over Napa Valley
On one of our trips up to beautiful Napa Valley, I took my drone and got this amazing footage. We would go every year to stay at our time share, The Vino Bella, and taste some GREAT wine!
MSUB and my drone
I took my two favorite toys out today. My mountain stand up bike Msub, and my drone.Short but sweet.
Learning to land
This is a short video of me learning to land my drone.Landing in the wild was so much fun!
Home sweet home!
This was one of my first drone flights over our home in Bell Canyon Ca.This little drone takes great photos and is easy to fly.
Marlowe
We found sweet little Marlowe in the parking lot of the Vino Bello Resort. She came up to us and would not rest until we took her into our 3rd floor room. We feed her eggs, because that is all we had.
Lamborghini
I always wanted to drive a Lamborghini in the wild, so we rented this one in Las Vegas and drove it like we stole it.Nov 14 2012
1957 Chevy
I was just 15 years old when I bought this 57 Chevy, my first car ever. I had high hopes of fixing it up to look like the one in this picture, but alas it needed more work than I had money. That was skinny "me" standing next to the left of the front of the car.
1965 Corvair
After the 57 Chevy rebuild hit a roadblock, my parents graciously handed me the keys to this car, signaling the end of its roadworthy days. Unfortunately, it was on its last leg.
1966 Mustang
I traded in my vibrant yellow Nova for an extraordinary 1966 white 289 Mustang convertible—a true muscle car that etched its memories into my heart. The visceral experience of breaking the tires loose, the sound, and the intoxicating scent of burning rubber down Main Street remain vivid in my mind.
Austin Hope Winery
Austin Hope has made one of the best Cabs in California, and it is made in Paso Robles. Who knew a great Cab could be made in Paso!
Clos Solene winery
We stopped here during our May 2021 trip to Paso, and for the life of me I can't remember a thing memorable about their wines.
Marciano Estates
Marciano is the creator of Guess Jeans and has turned his attention to making the most amazing wines in Napa.
Gil Family Estates
Our first winery/bodegas visit in Spain. Clio is our favorite Spanish wine and Gil Family Estates makes it.So we drove inland and what should have been a 1.3 hours drive out of Alicante turned into 3 hours, but they were so kind to give us a tasting and a tour. There is nothing like drinking your favorite wine right next to the vines!Tomorrow on to Barcelona.
Descanso Gardens, Enchanted Forest Of Lights
They deck out the entire gardens with lights for the Enchanted Forest Of Lights. It is a must see during the Holidays.
North Carolina Arboretum lights
The Christmas lights at the Arboretum were fantastic. They are different than Descanso Gardens and I might say better!
HUNTINGTON GARDENS
We adventured out to the Huntington Library to see the spring flowers. The roses were fantastic and the Japanese gardens were so green, and my favorite as always was the cactus gardens!
Eaton Canyon Falls
Hiking to Eaton waterfall above Pasadena
Escondido Falls
Our hike to Escondido falls near Malibu. There would have been more water last week, but nice just the same.
Cooper Canyon Falls
This was our first of many hikes down to visit Cooper Canyon Falls. We had to hike from Hwy 2, so our total was over 9 miles.
Nojoqui Falls
We had our eye on four hikes in one day in the Santa Barbara area. The Gaviota Wind Caves, the Gaviota Hot Springs, the Nojoqui Falls, and Lizard Rock. This is our hike to Nojoqui Falls. The falls were not running that well and the hike was not that long, but they are very very high indeed.
Snow Summit
Kia and I headed up to Snow Summit for some fresh snow!It had not snowed like this in 4 years, so we had a ball!
June Mountain
Another amazing snowboarding trip to June Mountain with no one on the mountain!
Winston Peak and Winston Ridge
We hiked Waterman Mountain some years ago and could see Winston Peak from the top, so it was well past time to bag this peak.
Mt Hillyer
Another great day of hiking with my buddy, even if we never found a defined peak.
Strawberry Peak
This hike is not for sissies. It took us most of the day to drive up and back, and climb to this amazing peak.
Sandstone Peak
There is no better right of passage hike in the Santa Monica Mountain than making the loop up to Sandstone Peak, over to Inspiration Point, and then over to Balancing Rock.
Moab Slick Rock
Kara and I were driving out to see Brad, Chris and the kids in Colorado, and I wanted to stop in Moab and ride Slick Rock.I rented my bike from Moab Cyclery, and they took me up to the trail head. I had heard about this ride like it was a legend.
Chesebro Trails on the SUB
Road my SUB "stand up bike" on a dirt fire road for the first time, out to Cheseboro where the Woolsey fire tore through. It was pretty green all and all, but the oak trees took some major damage. The SUB is a road bike, but it held up fine on the rough terrain!
Malibu Creek State Park
Road Malibu State Park on my SUB on Saturday, it is where they filmed Planet of the Apes and the Mash Unit and so much more!MSP is truly the Yosemite of Southern California!Check out the short video!
Chesebro to the tree
From box to an amazing 10 mile mountain bike trail ride in one morning! This is one special machine!
Marvin Braude Bike Trail in Santa Monica
This was my second ride on my SUB down Marvin Braude Bike Trail in Santa Monica. What a wonderful ride this is! The art is so vivid along this bike path.
Bell Canyon Roads
Trying my SUB out riding 10 miles around Bell Canyon after the fires.
Thornblade
A 10 mile ride on almost every street in our Thornblade golf course community.Very quite on Saturday but for a few cars, walkers, and runners. More elevation gain than I expected!
Conestee Nature Preserve
Finally road Conestee Natural Preserve on my RSUB, and rode up to the Swamp Rabbit Trail connector.Along the SRT section was some amazing mountain biking single track. I road it on my street bike and lived to tell about it!It would be amazing to start here and ride the entire length of the Swamp Rabbit Trail. No one is ever there during the week, turtles and wild life everywhere under a green canopy. Like my own little park!It will be my go to ride. It has so much more to see and enjoy than the upper Swamp Rabbit Trail.
