Tesla Road Trips

I read about how amazing the flower in Carrizo National Monument would be this year in the L.A. Times. So Marv and I packed into the Tesla and off we went. It was EVERYTHING they said it would be.But next time let's take the FJ, because we were lucky the Tesla low profile tires made it out without a flat!

Our Tesla trip to the Joshua Tree National Park, 426 miles, 2 charging stations, 12 hours total, and many many beautiful amazing hikes.Check out our short video!

This is my fourth Tesla road trip, up to Death Valley then over to Mammoth Lakes and on to Mono Lake.I had a ball at every location, and the Tesla performed perfectly!

Another amazing drive in the Tesla, we had some great Paso wines and took the scenic drive up to Parkfield which is where the Pacific and North American plates meet. They call it the earthquake capital of the world! Only 18 people live there! It was not scenic and the road was rough, oh well, on to the next drive!

Around noon today, I said, hell with the work that I had planned, I'm taking Tessi for a drive.I left home on route to the Valencia charging station then drove across the mountains at Castaic Lake, then went to Gorman the back way, had to recharge at Tejon before heading back to the Frasier Park cut off to take HWY 33 the long haul into Ojai.I had never seen some of these mountains before, NO cars, NO cops, just windy roads and some nice straightaways that let me push her towards 100 mph.Got home at 8:00 P.M. but such a great ride and day!Topped off at the Thousand Oaks new charging station, so only 3 stops.Must do a longer one, through Death Valley!

Today's Tesla day trip took me to lake Isabella and the Kern river. So many new roads still to drive!
