National Preserve, Parks & Monuments

Mike and I took my "new to me" 2013 FJ Cruiser out Joshua Tree to see the flowers and find some nice areas for off roading. There were no flowers but we found the dirt and did more extreme off roading than I have ever done before. It was such a fun day.It took $97.38 to fill the car, yikes!Mike and I worked together 45 years ago, and it was great filling in the last 45 years.Friends for life!!!!!!

We headed out on a very long day to hit ALL of these sites in one day!* Mary Beal Nature hike.* Mitchell Caverns.* The Hole In The Wall ring's hike.* The Lava Tubes. These are the pictures from the Mary Beal Nature hike. The mist over the mountains was fantastic!

I read about how amazing the flower in Carrizo National Monument would be this year in the L.A. Times. So Marv and I packed into the Tesla and off we went. It was EVERYTHING they said it would be.But next time let's take the FJ, because we were lucky the Tesla low profile tires made it out without a flat!

On the way back from Carrizo Plain, we stopped in Palmdale at the poppy reserve! What an amazing spring flower day...

We planned a very full day in the Mojave National Preserve starting with, * Mary Beal Nature hike.* Mitchell Caverns.* The Hole In The Wall ring's hike.* The Lava Tubes. We made it to all of them, but just made it to the Lava Tubes before dark.
